WBBM Picks Up Story

Mike Krauser from WBBM NewsRadio was trolling here evidently:
  • Mike K said...

Mike krauser, WBBM Newsradio, trying to reach officer Mathews' son. 312-636-9065

    7/29/2014 08:06:00 AM
  • Joey Mathews can still name all five men convicted of killing his father, Chicago Police Officer John Mathews, in Hegewisch 26 years ago, and he’s furious one of them has been coaching youth baseball in the same neighborhood, years after finishing his prison sentence.

WBBM Newsradio’s Mike Krauser reports Joey Mathews was 4 years old when his father was beaten to death by a group of young men near Wolf Lake on the night of May 21, 1988.
There really out to be a good turnout tonight.

E-15 fuel is a witch's brew concocted by the Devil himself. It is bad juju for motors, more expensive and your car will get less power and lower gas milage on it, until the motor dies. Small gasoline engines like lawn mowers, outboard motors, weed whacker engines, chain saws etc. quickly die with a steady diet of E-15. Besides it has been proven to be bad for the environment, but good for ethanol plants. No wonder the EPA likes it.

How in the world can this happen? That a cop killer who beat a man to death is still not rotting in prison. This man and his cohorts did an evil act to a good man and yet he is now roaming the earth as a free man, enjoying life with his friends and family. This should have never happened.

After reading the link to the case details, exactly what "extenuating" circumstances are they citing to excuse giving them the death penalty, let alone life in prison? That case was open and shut, especially after forensic testing showed blood on the offender's clothing belonged to John. The whole community should be absolutely outraged.

Channel 5 tv news also did a really good piece on this story last night. Surprising but they did. Only serving ten years for killing this officer is an insult. He had a family and small children. If we made these heinous fiends do ALL of their sentences we would have a whole lot less crime on our streets. Prayers with the Mathews family.

Hit nail right on head, SCC. I know "heartbroken, shattered, scarred for life" too. No matter how much booze and tranquilizers and "counseling" and so forth, every day when you wake up your family member is still gone and they are never coming back.

You "try to keep busy" double-hard, pick up the pieces, build a life for yourself, and still every day you say a prayer and lay a flower in front of the family picture and cry.

Jeez, this POS should not be bouncing around the old neighborhood like he was some kind of movie star. At least "move to Montana and become a dental floss tycoon," to paraphrase Frank Zappa. If you're not doing the time you should be, just get out of decent people's sight and quit rubbing salt into the wound.

Crawl away, motherf___er. Crawl.

So when is the undoubtedly Russian character who pulled the trigger on MH17 going to get his medal, pension, new name and papers, and free apartment for life in some quiet spot far away? People are now seeing dogs "running from the crash site carrying something in their mouths." So bad they must have frantically used a dozen cans of that squirt-foam "gap-filler" expanding construction sealant around the door of one of the rail cars moving the looted bodies of the victims -- the stuff dripping and oozing all over -- and people were still holding cloths over their noses and throwing up...

Years ago, they decided it was better to have a sergeant close cases than a police agent. Lowly officers or agents weren't deemed capable of signing off on a case. (Mostly the lowly ones did the surveillances and investigations, then the sergeants signed their closing reports. No idea if that's changed or not.)

The Slum times has posted a list of Officers who got 12 or more CR#s during the period of 2001 to 2006. As I look at this list I see a lot of unit people who tend to get more numbers due to their assignment and the district Officers I know who are pro-active and make a lot of arrests. most of the numbers are non-sustained.

I thought our CRs were supposed to be purged after 5 years?

OT: Officer Fatally Shot, Person Of Interest Apprehended

Update: Authorities have arrested Brian George Fitch, the person of interest in Wednesday’s fatal officer shooting. Officials say they are not seeking any other suspects.

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Mendota Heights police officer died Wednesday after being shot in West St. Paul, and police say they are searching for a person of interest.
The shooting happened just after 12 p.m. near the area of Dodd Road and Smith Avenue while the officer was performing a traffic stop, the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office said.
Mendota Heights Police Chief Mike Aschenbrener confirmed the identity of the officer as 47-year-old Scott Patrick. Aschenbrener said he was with the department for nearly two decades, and was a father to two teenage children. He died at Regions Hospital.
Aschenbrener also said they are still seeking 39-year-old Brian George Fitch Sr. in connection with the shooting.

I saw Dean Chavez on the news and he said he just wanted to "get on with his life." How dare he say that and why should he be given that opportunity? What about P.O. John Mathews getting on with his life and his family getting on with their lives? P.O. Mathews didn't get that chance and the lives of his family members were changed forever. I am sure it was not the life each had envisioned. And I guess that Dean Chavez's life was not what he envisioned either, but then he made a choice to participate in the murder of P.O. Mathews. Dean Chavez deserves nothing more than to live each day of the rest of his life seeing, feeling, and paying for what he did. And I can't say much for whoever hired him to be a coach, and so very glad that he never coached my kids. Nothing like a thorough background check. May Dean Chavez rot in hell.

The Sun-Times list is nothing; there is another site called: invisibleintelligence.com, and they are listing specific allegations and dispositions. And what stands out is that most of the complaints were Unfounded or Not Sustained! Past contracts told us that after a specific period of time "unfounded" allegations would be expunged from our records. Instead they are now open so that attorneys can pursue or create "patterns". Not to mention the divorce attorneys who will now use these allegations to leverage child custody. The FOP needs to produce records on the Complainants. Who are these citizens? Has the state ever charged them with crimes? What were those dispositions? We need to fight back with counter suits against anyone who cannot get a sustained on a complaint. It's time to show Unity; ONE WEEKEND OF BOYCOTTING SPECIAL EMPLOYMENT, VRI, ETC. JUST AS WE ONCE SHOWED UNITY AND MARCHED AROUND CITY HALL AND BUSTED LIL DICKIE'S "LYMPIC" FANTASY! JUST ONE WEEKEND, OF UNITY AND WE COULD SERVE NOTICE TO RAHM AND MC NUMBNUTS. The FOP should demand the names of every complainant on a Not Sustained, Unfounded or Exonerated Complaint.

Though Pat Quinn was the attorneys name, it's not the same man. Phil Cline was the detective that worked the case though and did a great job. Many cops did become members of the board and as each pushed to have Chavez removed, they were kicked from the board by a 3/5 board vote. Dean had friends on the board to make sure that happened. Jamrock didn't show at the meeting, and when they were originally contacted about Dean stepping down, instead of understanding, they told Dean they had his back. The tribune reported a very misleading story to the circumstances claiming "alcohol abuse" insinuating Mathews was drunk, and while he had a BAC of .08 (a beer at home on his day off, this was the extenuating circumstance) he was not legally drunk, whereas the attackers had been drinking all day and some had been doing cocaine at the party before the murder. The tribune also claims Mathews waved his gun at them. Upon being approached by 5 men aggressively moving towards him, he pulled his weapon and identified himself. It is also understated that the Chavez brothers grew up a block from Mathews. They knew him and knew he was a police officer.
