This Isn't Going to Make You Friends

You don't get to call out the Machine while they are systematically cutting off your balls:
  • Out of money and stripped of power to investigate campaign finances, the City Council’s handpicked inspector general took his fight for survival directly to Mayor Rahm Emanuel Monday — by questioning the mayor’s commitment to ethics reform.

Faisal Khan ripped Emanuel for ignoring Khan’s year-long demand for more money after the legislative inspector general exhausted his $354,000-a-year budget with four months to go in 2014.

Khan’s semi-annual report also accused four aldermen and three of their chiefs-of-staff of wrongdoing, without naming names.

With Emanuel’s backing, aldermen are now working behind-the-scenes to build support for a plan to zero out Khan’s budget and transfer the power to investigate aldermen and City Council employees to the city's Inspector General Joe Ferguson.
This guy has evidence that 4 aldercreatures have broken laws? We imagine it would be his civic duty to turn over all of this info to the Attorney General, the State Police, the feds and the media. Truth is an affirmative defense against charges of slander/libel. And if Rahm and his merry minions are zeroing out your budget, you aren't going to be around next fiscal year - what have you got to lose?

Maybe this guy can run as a reformer.

Why can't he bypass the mayor, go straight to the people using social media. like start a kick starter account or one of the other crowd funding sites?

Sounds like he might have some leverage there to get his budget doubled or even tripled, depending on whose names those are.

Sick.

Publicize that stuff asap and you'll have all the leverage you need, you goofball. It will make huge headlines. Then if Rahm and his cronies try zeroing out your budget, the damage they do to themselves will be worse than just letting you stick around and do your job for a few more years.

Maybe Raccoon Eyes made him an offer he couldn't refuse. This guy could wind up down by the river like the former school board president. This is Chicago don't forget.

$354K is all they can come up with? For a YEAR? Come on, every Alderprick gets $1.2M as a slush fund for 'neighborhood' projects...

He manages money as well as most politicians. Budget was increased about 600%, and he still ran out 2/3 of the way through the year?

sounds like they are reaming him.
As stated by others, if it was that damaging to those well connected they would be kissing his feet instead.
But even Even Ferguson doesn't have any real power either.

Government perry? Governor Perry demanded the resignation of a drunk who was convicted of DUI and threatened to use her position to retaliate against police officers who arrested her. When she refused to resign, he vetoed her budget. Then she retaliated against governor Perry by indicting him on charges that will never stand up in court, but may complicate his short term political ambitions.

Yeah but look at Pat Fitzgerald - he shut up and stopped the JJJ investigation early to protect BO and what did he get? Nothing. Go for it, go down swinging! I'll vote for him (that makes 1, but what the hell)

Why does he waste his time? The Cook County State's Attorney, the Illinois Attorney General, and the U.S, Attorney General are all democrats. They won't prosecute their own. We are held hostage by the democrats. Vote them all out. God save the United States.

Give them what they want and keep them away. Let them ruin and burn it all to the ground. Let the whole country watch it as it watched Ferguson. Let the general public know what the savage is about.

So if you're saying his budget was increased 600%, you're saying that it was previously only $60,000? Figures that this city would give less than one year of a police officers salary to keep an eye on 50 thieves. I think $360k is a pittance if he's uncovered evidence of wrongdoing by four alderman. Give the man the money he needs.

To be fair, if you're going to run out of money anywhere investigating corruption, it would be here in our fair city of Chicago.

Inspector General is a Fraud anyway. Passsed my case to Illinois State Police almost a year ago, haven't heard a word since. Quinn, and the rest of the Illinois Democrats, ALL Corrupt. Selling public jos and giving them out as rewards for political favoritism, and Inspector General knows it and does little, or nothing, just passes the buck. Your corrupt Illinois Government in action. They're ALL in on it. Can ANYONE name ONE person in the ENTIRE State that has been fairly compensated for unscrupulous State of Illinois hiring practices ? Didn't think so.

Dump Quinn and Durbin in the November Election. It will be a good start. Their corruption must end, it affects all honest taxpaying Illinoisans.

Anyone voting for Rauner is out of their minds and I am a registered Republican! This man is joined at the hip with Rahm and will DESTROY our pension. Quinn is the worst Gov of all time, but will be forced out by the impending scandal over the Ceasefire Funds. Our only hope is for Quinn to win and get thrown out for an unknown yet candidate.

Faisal is personal friends of several sworn officers who vouch for him, one a fellow NYC transplant at OLA. He is pro-police, anti-corruption, and straight as an arrow which means he was doomed from the beginning. I'm sure he will be shut down since his report reflects 57 active long-term investigations. The MCC says he is not permitted to disclose names, so he and the alderman are the only ones who know what and who he is investigating. If they can fire him before elections get closer, they will. I only hope he exposes every open investigation as he walks out the door. Watch who votes to remove him, and I'm sure you'll have a good idea of who is under investigation.

Why even ask about the FBI? They take orders from Washington- look at the Blago wire and how they shut it down before ? came on the phone. FBI investigate what they are told to investigate.

Faisal is a figure head that cares only for himself, he never had any intention to do anything other than collect a paycheck. Look at his employee--she is a political event planner and blogger. What does she investigate...how much food to feed the alderman at a fundraiser? She's good friends with Rahm. Definitely, not a straight arrow. Sorry.
