Public art is going to be climbed on, abused and damaged by assholes - it's a given in these times where no one has any sense of propriety:
- A 25-year-old man was arrested after allegedly vandalizing a police memorial horse statue late Saturday night on Michigan Avenue.
A few minutes after 11 p.m., a man climbed on one of the Chicago Police memorial horse statues in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue, according to police.
Both of the wings on the horse, one on each side, were broken off the statue, according to a police report. There are signs “clearly posted” in the area prohibiting trespassing and climbing, according to the report.
A witness called police to report the damage and the 25-year-old man was arrested. He was custody and charges are pending, according to police.
Hopefully, repairs can be made in short order.

If the statute is of such frailty that it can't handle someone climbing on it - put it in a museum, behind a rope or inside an acrylic box...
