Someone Has Seen the Future!

And it looks like this:
  • Any Street, Anywhere USA

Victim: Officer, officer! That man just stole my purse!

Officer: Good morning ma'm, or does that pronoun offend you. If so, please advise me of the correct pronoun I may use in order to not....

victim: Officer, you're not listening to me! That man stole my purse.

officer: That gentleman across the street?

    Victim: Yeah, that's him.

officer: Okay, let me go talk to him.

victim: He's a big guy, don't you want some help?

Officer: Oh no, anything that might give the appearance of a show of force isn't allowed.
Officer leaves to talk to the alleged suspect and then returns:
  • Officer: Is it a red purse with black trim and brass colored clasp with the initials MS on the side?

Victim: That's it, my name is Mary Smith and those are my initials. That's my purse.

Officer: I figured it was yours, he doesn't look like the purse type. The problem is he doesn't want to give it back.

Victim: Well, arrest him, he robbed me of that purse. He punched me, knocked me down and then took my purse. Look at this bruise on my arm, and I'm bleeding from my forehead.

Officer: I'm afraid I can't do that. He said he wouldn't allow me to arrest him. I can call the EMS folks though to treat you for your injuries. There will be a fee of course.

Victim: What??!! You have to arrest him. He committed a robbery and I'm the victim. I demand you arrest him.

Officer: I'm afraid I can't do that. He said he would fight if I tried to arrest him and our new Rules Of Engagement don't allow us to confront a hostile suspect.

Victim: Rules Of Engagement? What the hell is that?

Officer: Basically it means if the alleged suspect offers any resistance, or even says he will resist, our Rules Of Engagement say we shall not "engage". It's really quite simple and it makes our job much simpler. No more fights, no violence involved and everyone is much safer that way aren't they?

Victim: But he robbed me and he's standing right there, you mean you can't do anything?

Officer: Oh, whether or not I could do something doesn't matter. I'm not allowed to confront a possibly hostile suspect. Perhaps you could talk to him and see if he will come down to the precinct house and turn himself in.

Victim: That's it? That's all you can do?

Officer: Well, I can give you our website and you can make a report of this alleged crime. It's a really neat website, designed by the same folks that did that Affordable Care Act site. And I'd be glad to give you the office phone numbers for Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and Eric Holder.

    Victim: Will they do anything?

Officer: Not really, they're only interested if I do something.

Victim: Well did you at least get his name so I know who the bad guy is when I make this report?

Officer: No, he didn't want to give me his name, and gosh all I can do is ask.

Victim: This is incredible. He's just standing over there like he knows nothing will be done about this.

Officer: I know. Happens all the time now. Well, have a nice day and call any time, we're here to help.

    Victim: But officer....

Officer: You'll have to excuse me, I have to go apologize to that gentlemen for disrupting his day.
Sounds very prophetic.

SCC, again your sarcasm can really be a forecast of the future. Already, the Chicago Tribune is calling "robbery", a forcible felony in Illinois, a "petty" crime in its recent story about the twin boy murdered near 63rd Street and State:

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/ct-demario-bailey-murder-charges-met-20141215-story.html#page=1

Fifth paragraph from the top. . .

Do you have spies over at the Trib to know this stuff ahead of time??

Keep up the good work. You truly type with the fire of the First Amendment at your fingertips.

Actually the scenario is a good one and the way things ought to be. Why risk someones life or chance of serious injury over a minor property crime. The lady can easily get a new purse and replace the contents of the old one. The officer did not suffer any injuries, nor did the gentleman that took the purse. All are well and happy.

I don't buy it SCC!

By the time I get to the location of this "alleged" crime driving at a safe speed and in a courteous manner so as not to alarm other motorists, pedestrians or bicyclists, and secure legal parking so as not to obstruct the flow of traffic, I can't imagine this "alleged" criminal would still be on scene, or the "alleged" victim for that matter. And if we have no victim and no offender... "19-Boy squad, I'm clear."

It's a win-win-win. Lower crime numbers, fewer officer complaints and no rap. You're welcome.

Cue: You-Know-Who climbing through YOUR bedroom window/gettin' up in YOUR buzzy-door building lobby with you and your yappy critter on a string...

"You lazy fucking cops swore an oath to protect and serve US!"

It's a new day in America.
Didn't you get the memo?

Contracts are being abrogated.
Laws are being circumvented.
Promises are being broken.
Word is bond only for as long as
ass covering is required by political expediency.

Y'all funny...
Expecting only The Police to be held to any kind
of ethics/rules of conduct/expectation of performance of duty/compulsory giving a fuck.

(The cosmos rolls it's eyes...)

"Why y'all salty an' shit? You knew it would be like THIS when you took the job, so get over it!"

Amazing that there are so called rational, fully functioning adults who want to see The Police
being made to put their hands up in submission
on the flawed assumption that when that happens, the violence in the urban centers of this country will magically stop.

The acountability gun aimed in the wrong direction with a lit wick... Y'all might wanna turn that sumbitch around...

"We conversatin' with our sons about y'all."
WHOOO! Likewise...

What? Don't be mad... It's that dialog Eric "The Red" Holder has been jaw-jacking about. Right?

Deluded, truth averse, fact avoiding, excuse making, obtuse hard-heads must have all their mirrors covered up to eliminate any possibility of inward looking critical self examination.

"The Police are the problem...
Once we fix THEM, everything will fall in place."

We're still waiting on an explaination as to what this rhetorical "everything" is and what, beyond destroying Policing as an institution, will embracing this "everything" come to mean.

Just another big, dumb, racist, brutal, heavy-fisted, Chicago Blue Suit who's "just pissed-off cuz it isn't 1960 anymore."

The truth has got to hurt:

a scientific study from Washington State University-Spokane. According to findings from the research team’s innovative experiments:

• Officers were less likely to erroneously shoot unarmed black suspects than they were unarmed whites — 25 times less likely, in fact

• And officers hesitated significantly longer before shooting armed suspects who were black, compared to armed subjects who were white or Hispanic

“In sum,” writes Dr. Lois James, a research assistant professor with the university’s Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology who headed the study, “this research found that participants displayed significant bias favoring Black suspects” in their shooting decisions.

Rules of Engagement? Yes, something I did not think about but would speculate that it indeed could happen. The General Orders do address this issue, somewhat, but I don't doubt that as a fallout from these radical demonstrations more will be coming down the pike. The left has to blame someone and they blame the police and use them as an excuse to further their agenda. But, what they don't have the courage to do is address the real problems in the black communities. That would be uncomfortable.

Some years ago some PO put together a self-arrest form. That was during another moment of Lets-make-the-police-all-kind-and-gentle. You hand it to an offender and if he decides to submit to the self arrest he fills out his personal information and appears at a police station. If he doesn't want to, oh well, at least no brutality complaint.

There was some terrible crime after that that made people scream for the police amid cries of "lock 'em up and throw away the key." Just go home safe, screw these idiots, don't get jammed up arresting some savage for bullshit.

Remember, the poster children for police abuse from another generation were the Wilson Brothers and they were charged with murdering two police officers.

People want the police but they never want to know what you do exactly. See what happens when they find out?

The fantasy is in your head. Go right ahead and be the martyr. When you get your thirty pending separation take some time and think about the disservice you have done to your family. No longer will you be the breadwinner. Your kids now will go to public schools, good luck with that, and with finding a job to keep from getting foreclosed. It's a new day and age, don't you get it? You were given a brain, use it! There's no shame in analyzing the new world order and doing only whats necessary to ensure the safety and well being of those closest to you. And dont talk to me about our oath, the thieving assholes that have been elected dont abide by theirs. And all the dreamers that believe the populace will be "begging for us to do something", you can keep hanging on to that fantasy as well. This country had it's last shot at stopping the toilet from flushing and it chose the socialist from a foreign land for a second term. Get it thru your thick skulls, "its OVER"

I would welcome a policy that has us policing and responding to calls similar to firemen. All ordinance violations and misdemeanors are "19-sammed" and forcible felonies will be responded to from the station in a "safe" manner. We will sit in the station and respond to necessary calls in rotating order. Anything else could be handled with a victim walk-in to a district desk.

I can't remember the last time you invited me to your house for a cup of coffee, even though my wife is godmother to your only child. But let's be frank here. You never wanted my friendship. And you feared to be in my debt.

You found paradise in America. You had a good trade, you made a good living. The police protected you and there were courts of law. So you didn't need a friend like me. Now you come and say "Don Corleone, give me justice." But you don't ask with respect. You don't offer friendship. You don't even think to call me "Godfather." You come into my house on the day my daughter is to be married and you ask me to do murder - for money.

I ask you for justice.

Hey SCC- You want to see the future of policing according to Eric Holder? Go read the article in the New York Post from Dec. 8th. where Eric Holder states that all police officers are "subconsciously racist" and that even well intentioned officers are racist. He also goes on to say that police officers should participate in role playing exercises where police officers are retrained to think differently about black people. He wants officers to think the word "safe" whenever they encounter African Americans.

The article further relates that the "Justice" Department is in the process (or already has) of implementing a policy in Las Vegas that police officers who initiate a chase CANNOT pursue/touch black suspects or something along those lines.

Similarly, in Fayetteville (North Carolina???), the Justice Department wants to implement a policy that prohibits police officers from searching black suspects. I may have the city's mixed up, but give it a read and see for yourself.

I guess some people truly are above the law. Scary times ahead, indeed.

It has come to our attention (thanks as always to the Spirits of the Air) that people, folks and "neutrons" have an axe to grind with the hard, "overly militaristic" mindset of "doing whatever it takes to survive and get home to their families and loved ones."

Oh come now...
This is suddenly a problem?

This mindset has ALWAYS been in place.
The issue is that the Progressives haven't been all
up in Policing (in order to destroy it) to the extent they are now.

You have Progressive muni-gov elected officials actively warring against the interests of their Police Departments and thus the interests of citizens who desire a robust and agile Police so equipped and empowered to ensure order and safety on the public way and timely rapid response to breaches of peace, safety and order.

We say again that there is no recognized "corporate efficiency model"/beancounterism that can be forcibly overlaid on municipal policing unless you are prepared to ignore the ensuing bloodbath or devote copious capital trying to spin/manage/mitigate it to suit cynical political ends.

It's kind of like a pilot intentionally peeling the wings off his full of passengers, fuel laden jet in order to demonstrate that he, by virtue of his own skill, can coax the damned thing in for a "controlled crash" just because he read the manual and all the research that points to some people possibly surviving the crash...

...Never you mind all the screams coming from that flaming metal tube skidding down the runway... That's just some theory being worked out.

Same damned thing with Policing.

Coppers are unwilling passengers along for the ride and they're bearing the brunt for the nitwits in the cockpit.

What else is there but to do what is necessary to survive?

I don't stop anyone, will not challenge anyone, will not traffic stop anyone!

All because of a Weasel Mayor Rahm [in the mold of New York De Blasio] and a dope of Supt. Mc Carthy that will not back his police officers!

We even have shitty car computers that won't connect for a lousy license plate check. Let alone do a Contact Card check! So, thanks for giving me an excuse not to do anything anymore!

As for you hard chargers, I'll read about your lawsuits in the news, when the media drags your dumbasses through the mud, even when and if your right!

I'M DONE!

OT-Today I observed hundreds and hundreds of presents being wrapped that were donated by all of you at HQ. These presents will be given to several shelters to make Christmas brighter for a lot of children who still believe in Christmas. At the same time protesters were outside protesting the brutality of the police.

A bit surreal, looking around at the generosity of the mean police from Districts and Units and then seeing what was taking place outside the front doors.

To all of you who donated, bless you and Merry Christmas.

You left out the part where the Officer asks the "Victim" if she was satisfied with the police response/service. And more importantly where to complain if she wasnt...

12/16/2014 05:33:00 AM

Close but not quite...

The responding officer will also be required to "self report" any "client" dissatisfaction.

Failure to do so will result in suspension, Federal review, termination, federal imprisonment and your information being strategically leaked by the media...

They're not satisfied with The Police putting THEIR hands up and being hands off...

Prog-Tard/Catered to Constituent "retribution" against The Police just for being...

Oh yes, a new world order is coming. A F/1 commentator on CNN tonite said that the Grand Jury in the Michael Brown case was . . . wait for it . . . "Given to much evidence by the prosecutor" and that it "was intentional to confuse the jury". WTF, I think my head is about to explode!

12/16/2014 12:24:00 AM<<<

You mean like TOO much truth...

The entire file the Grand Jury had is available and is very extensive. Many witnesses backed up the Officer Wilson's story and were consistent with each other and the forensic evidence.

The witnesses that backed the "hands up" story were inconsistent with each other and the physical evidence. Not that that means anything to the race baiters, looters and rioters.

Interesting reading from the L.A. Times.

There are 75 volumes and documents; at least check out Witness #10

The Ferguson GJ material. Wilson's statement tells it all. (BTW: P 229 .40).

015th district section 8 says, I'm going to emulate Barb West when she wore a blue shirt. I'm gonna get my sleep on. Pillow, blanket and slippers in the squad car, this is my new approach to policing. If I could piss and shit inside the squad car I would, that will be the only time I get out and do something.

Wrong! We need to continue to do our job no matter what. We have a job to do and we should be aggressive when needed. In the end, the department has no choice to back us as long as we follow the use of force policy.

This is what the likes of Guiliford and Georgas who were never street police officers want. The police department has promoted based on paper degrees and that's why we are in this mess. I'm not sweating it. All I do is answer my calls. This is great. I have a steady side gig so I don't need court or VRI. Lol. 100g to ride around the 10tg district.

12/16/2014 01:38:00 PM
My exact sentiment. Let us remain at the station just like firefighters. When a call comes in, whoever is next at bat, goes out and answers the call. Since our word is not trusted, arrests will be made only when civilian witnesses are present or victims sign complaints.

How did that work out for Officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson? He used the use of force allowed and now the entire Department of Justice is out to get him.

Wake up, tough guy. It's a new day with the socialists in charge.

It's already happened in Boston.

On Boylston St yesterday afternoon, I saw fifty or sixty college kids walking in the street. They were stepping between cars, disrupting the flow of traffic on Boston's equivalent of Michigan Ave.

The kids were escorted like VIPs by squads with flashing lights and officers walking alongside on the sidewalk. I asked one officer what was going on. He said "Ferguson".

I asked why the "protesters" weren't getting arrested for being in traffic. He said that they weren't ALLOWED to arrest them.

In the stores, the staff were just relieved that the kids were "peaceful". Just so long as they weren't smashing windows. Unbelievable.

This is pretty much how it was in Chicago when I was growing up. Each station only had a few cars, a handful were on 3 wheelers and the rest walked and pulled the box. Things did not change until OW Wilson came in 1959.

op still gets sued for violating this statute:

(725 ILCS 5/107-16)
Sec. 107-16. Apprehension of offender. It is the duty of every sheriff, coroner, and every marshal, policeman, or other officer of an incorporated city, town, or village, having the power of a sheriff, when a criminal offense or breach of the peace is committed or attempted in his or her presence, forthwith to apprehend the offender and bring him or her before a judge, to be dealt with according to law;"

So right there is your defense:
"having the power of a sheriff"... - If you had the power of Tom Dart, or any other sheriff, you'd be able to arrest the offender. But since you don't have the power of a sheriff (did YOU get elected???), then you can't!

Toll reader says if it ever comes to this scenario aforementioned, I will go back to arming myself which I can now do legally. In the early 80's I carried my little Beretta .380 because when crack came to Chicago, it was dangerous. I figured I would take a misdemeanor and show up in court with counsel. Now I can carry legally and I go Glock 40 cal with 15rd. mags and do not need to call the police. Or counsel. Who said Chicago is not a better place?
