This is Obscene

  • Early last year, Mayor Rahm Emanuel helped out developer Dan McCaffery by backing McCaffery’s controversial plan to transform the former Children’s Memorial Hospital site in Lincoln Park into apartments, condos and stores.

After the Chicago City Council approved the project in April 2014, McCaffery, his wife and an executive with his McCaffery Interests development company contributed $65,900 to the mayor’s campaign fund between June 30 and Nov. 24.

Asked whether there was a connection between his projects getting approved and the contributions to Emanuel, McCaffery says, “Never. No way.”

It’s not the only time Emanuel has gotten campaign contributions from people who have benefited from actions he or city agencies or pension funds have taken, according to a Chicago Sun-Times examination of the nearly $30 million amassed so far by: the mayor’s campaign committee; a second campaign fund he controls; and a super PAC that supports Emanuel and aldermanic candidates he backs.
$30 million. And he's spending it everywhere. We've gotten four different flyers touting Rahm's alleged accomplishments and savaging his opponents.

But for all that, is Rahm headed to a runoff?
  • While Mayor Rahm Emanuel holds a two to one lead over his nearest rival exactly one month before the February 24th election, Alderman Robert Fioretti has emerged as the leading challenger to the Mayor, ccording to a new independent poll on the Mayor’s race.

The poll of 806 likely Chicago voters, conducted January 17-21 by Victory Research, shows the incumbent Mayor leading in his bid for re-election with 36.4% of the vote. Respondents answered with both land lines and cell phones. The margin of error for the poll is 3.45%

Alderman Robert Fioretti is in second place behind the Mayor with 18.2%. County Commissioner Jesus “Chuy” Garcia is third at 12.0%. Businessman Willie Wilson and William “Dock” Walls are in fourth and fifth place with 8.6% and 0.9% respectively, according to the poll.

Alderman Fioretti builds his runner-up position as a result of a strong showing on the city’s northwest and southwest side, where he finishes a strong second to the Mayor. Fioretti runs a strong third in the largely African-American wards on the south and west sides.
$30 million war chest and Rahm polls under 40%. And Fioretti is polling "a strong second" in the white enclaves to Rahm? Wow. Bob really ought to be cultivating an endorsement from Karen Lewis to break out in the black parts of town. Lewis could swing this thing, but Bob isn't really making the effort.

Lewis already endorsed Chuy. Unless he pulls out, that's off the table.

Fioretti isn't campaigning; he's so low-key, he's invisible. Considering he has the cameras, the park land-grab for the library and the lakefront land-grab for the Star Wars travesty, the understaffed cpd and the corresponding crime rates, the ongoing pothole fiasco, the dirty Michael Reese hospital land deal, the felon comptroller Rahm chose, the inept Brizzard Rahm chose, Rahm's petty, silly tantrum over the Trump signage, the closing of dozens of schools and the ensuing cost of 'safe passage', and the extraordinary mis-use of the TIFs, well, there's plenty of ammunition to wage a war. Bob either chooses not to, or Bob doesn't have the guts to.

It makes one's blood boil reading this stuff. Other stories, such as those that say the city cannot afford to pay its pension obligations, also make the blood boil. What's even more infuriating is the lack of questions directed at the previous administration of Daley Crime Inc., which created today's pension crisis by not contributing the city's share to the fund. Where are the stories decrying the abuses in the past? Where are the cries from the media for justice? For answers?

Vote for whomever you want. The important thing is to get out the vote. A big turnout guarantees a runoff, which Rahm desperately does not want.

Then vote for the other guy, no matter who it is. If you don't like him, get rid of him in four years. If that little nine fingered hobgoblin stays another four years, he is here for life. No one else wants him.

Sons of Liberty is on the History Channel. One of the opening scenes shows Ben Franklin talking to the British government telling them that the reason people are up in arms is that they are being taxed to death by the government and not able to get ahead.

Funny how our government is doing the same to us all now with red light cameras, speeding cameras, taxes on the internet, taxes on bottled water, increasing taxes on gas, inheritance taxes, taxes on healthcare...

It's a government gone out of control, but certain subversives like the socialists that call themselves democrats can still get loyalists to vote for them. Where are our Sons of Liberty?

Hate to break the news, but Rahm will win without a runoff. There's Rahm, and three challengers....a white, a hispanic, and an african-american. I don't know about you, but this is exactly the kind of field I would want to play on if I were an incumbent. Add in a huge war chest, Obama cutting commercials for you, the business community afraid to support any body else, and I'd say Rahm is sitting pretty. Once that happens, and with buddy Bruce as governor, watch out people.

This election will really be a civics lesson about Cash v. Perception. My Democrat Hack Precinct Captain came around pushing a life long incumbent alderman, virtually "begging" for our vote, and admitting that Rahm was an asshole! This is an alderman who has been in Office for over 25 yrs. When Da Machine, starts to split a ticket, and they have done it before, you can be sure one candidate is in trouble. However, the fact that people can vote in this election for several days, gives Da Machine time to bring out the dead to vote. Knuckle Draggers from all over Cook County will be in my ward asking how to get to the nearest nursing homes, so they can get those absentee ballots.

Since he has the media and the far left cop hating liberals and union types like CTU in his pocket, he still is facing resistance from a sane decent candidate like Fioretti , by he I mean Rahm and Chuy...both are enemies of decency. Rahm thinks he can buy everything with his elitist friends dirty money and garcia feels he can win with his DiBlasio like uber left hatred of police. They must be both stopped as they will make life miserable for decent working law abiding people. Their loyalty is to the cop haters and the elite.

In general I don't have a problem with anyone, including corporations, donating any amount to/for a politician's run for office. Money IS speech.

However, what I DO have a problem with is in local/county/state elections when *OUTSIDERS* donate money.

In the case of Rahm, it's his $2 Million from 'California' -- why would the human dildos in Holly-Weird care what happens in Chicago and who the mayor is? It's not like Tiny Dancer's gonna lose so what's the payoff that only Mayor Flaming Tutu can give them, over that of any other Chicago CommieRat pol? It's certainly not due to Rahm's 'Charming Personality'.

Then there's the OUTSIDERS who just want to buy the election to push their agenda. An agenda that's contrary to the customs and beliefs of the local citizens. Specifically, lefty gun-grabber Mikey f..king Bloomberg! That prick DID BUY the IL Congressional seat that was Jesse Jackson Jr's. I can't recall the Dem's name but as I recall she was behind in the polls until Bloomey threw millions into her campaign and it worked. The gun-grabbing psycho BOUGHT a seat in the US House! THAT SHOULD BE ILLEGAL!!

But I digress...the only other thing about Rahm and his $30 Million is; Why does Tiny Dancer need that much cash. $30 Mill to win an election that is his by default?? That's just weird???

Did you hear that FOOL willie Wilson in his ad saying he would have 3 Superintendents and not just one. Can you imagine 3 GMAC's all full of themselves at Comstat.

“$30 million war chest and Rahm polls under 40%....” Rahm is not worried, he will cook up a sound clip from the Messiah and the Ghetto vote will rally as it always does. Expect there to be massive voter fraud in the Black Community which will go undetected. But if a White Precinct Captain on the Northwest side has a Fioretti campaign pin on in a polling place the ASAs will come-a-running.

“…And Fioretti is polling "a strong second" in the white enclaves to Rahm? Wow. Bob really ought to be cultivating an endorsement from Karen Lewis to break out in the black parts of town. He's supporting the guy that wants to slash and cut fire and police pensions. FOP is no better with their silent endorsement of emanuel. What is wrong with these unions? Why have these guys been allowed by their membership to endorse this person? He so much as said he has no use for the police and gives no regard to fire. When he campaigned four years ago he went into the houses and yelled at the guys. He treated fire like the bastard red headed stepchild. wilson is a non entity but unfortunately he'll steal some votes with his 5th grade education. He wants the police to ride buses and thinks having 4 superintendents is a good idea. Where do these people come from? garcia hates the police and has participated in numerous marches against the police since Ferguson and New york results were announced. Alderman Fioretti is the only candidate that openly said we need to fix pensions and has told the public that police and fire do not collect social security. Wake up folks. Be sure to vote, and vote smart. Remember you reap what you sow. Debates start next week. Be smart, watch what they have to say. Listen carefully.

They did polling in 41 and realize that OConnor will lose in a upset. Some of the 41st ward precents are coming back 10 to 1 against OConnor. They need 41 and 19 to take Rham into a runoff. Stay tuned and watch the 41st Ward closely.
