State Overreach

  • A new law will force state schools to investigate reports of cyberbullying — even when it happens outside of school.

The law, which took effect Jan. 1, doesn't tell schools how to investigate cyberbullying. And it doesn't ask school officials to troll students' social media posts, looking for bad behavior. Rather, it requires school boards to figure out the best way to help a victim if cyberbullying is reported.

One method became controversial this month after a southern Illinois principal sent a letter to parents saying the school may ask for social media passwords if a student is suspected of violating any district rules.
Any parent who allows their child to be bullied by the state is no parent at all. Our kids are already under orders to demand Mom or Dad to be present for any questioning by anyone at school.

Of course, here come the typical excuses:
  • State Rep. Laura Fine, D-Glenview, who sponsored the law requiring schools to investigate cyberbullying, said the law was never intended to give schools the right to a student's social media passwords.

"This (law) means the victim can bring forward information about bullying outside of school," Fine said. "We had no intention to ever talk about what someone's password is."
Yeah, the road to Hell is paved with good intentions, Congress-asshole. You jagoffs and your ilk did the same thing with health care and 99.9% of any type of gun legislation pushed through the ignorant legislature.

A generation of sheep are being raised before our eyes.

Best way for the school to handle it? Bring all the combatants into the office.

"Did this shit happen on school grounds? During school? Was anyone on school grounds when it happened? Was it during a field trip?"

If so - we're suspending the assholes who did it. 3 days. Next time - 3 weeks.

If not - then cut this crap out. We don't have time to investigate this damned nonsense. If you want boxing gloves and want to climb into the ring - let us know - we'll get the PE teacher to ref the match.

Grow up.

So what happens if Student A is from a public school, and Student B is from a private school? The nanny state continues....

Shouldn't the parents handle their bullying issues outside of school? I thought that is what parents did? Am I confused in that I now need to let the school come to my home? Yea right. Worry about dropping common core and more government programs that are dumbing down our kids. We need less federal government programs and laws in our state schools...........not more

Its a different day, and now its cyber bullying. This isn't the stand-up-for-yourself-and-the-bully-will-leave-you-alone. Parents need to see what they kids are doing online, but that doesn't always happen. I don't know if this is the best way to deal with it, but since school I'd a big part of a kids life, they meet friends there, the school might have to get involved in investigating cyber bullying.

not to get off the subject but on the Vanecko case there is no statue of limitation for murder so any police officers detectives, sergeants and states attorney that cover up the murder investigation are consider also an accomplice or accessories to this crime.

Tracinski letter had an essay about this degradation of government work, and its impact:

Written about the federal executive/legislative branch, but parallels to local government abound.

School boards are, pretty much, laws onto themselves. They need to be reigned in but only a good state law can accomplish that. Bad examples surface every day. They raise taxes at will, no controls over their spending, no public input over salaries and benefits of administrators and teachers, they control content of textbooks, etc etc.

CPS constantly blows off stuff on the Police they should handle in school. Their own policy states that CPD has the final say on if a student is arrested or not. Not the staff, including the principal. Too many of these school Officers are worried about losing their cushy spots so they kiss the principals behind. The ones that actually try to have the school handle it are overridden by white shirts who have no clue.

Statute. With a "T". It is a law.
A statue is the big green thing in New York Harbor, holding up a torch in one hand. As in Statue of Liberty.

These a**hole bully kids are targeting thier classmates and sending them messages on their computer. The parents can't or won't stop them. Sometimes you don't know the parents or have any way to reach them. The school needs to get involved and punish these kids and let the parents know what's happening. How can anyone be against a law like this?

Once again that saying has nothing to do with government hand outs...the fundraisers that are thrown for coppers' kids that have illnesses, the things done for kids of LODDs..that's the village. Go ahead and tell me it's not. God forbid I lose one of my buddies, I'd be there for their kids...and if you wouldn't do the same you're a loser.

Once a kid learns that all he has to do to get his/her way is to call the police and claim he was smacked or shaken, it is all over. Then the kid will demand what they want or else he will have mom and dad locked up again.

When I was maybe 11 or 12 I was bothered by a bully who was bigger than me and he just wouldn't quit. I came up behind him and cracked him in the head with a piece of iron plumbing pipe and knocked him out. I got in trouble but that asshole and none of the rest of them ever bothered me again.

1210am...we had off duty CPD and county COs working security at my school. One in particular would lock the bathroom door and let two agreed parties throw some blows one on one and it was over right there. We've focused so much on hating violence, which has worked wonders, the kids feel entitled to bullies seeing the light of day and changing their way. Adulthood is going to knock some of these kids over with a feather.

Pakistani teachers arming selves in wake of school massacre

Feb 2nd 2015 4:20AM

"PESHAWAR, Pakistan (AP) - When Pakistani Taliban militants stormed a Peshawar school and massacred 150 children and teachers, nobody could fight back. Shabnam Tabinda and some of her fellow teachers want to change that - and are practicing how to shoot terrorists.

"Government authorities in Pakistan's northwest frontier have given permission for teachers to carry concealed firearms in response to the Dec. 16 attack in Peshawar that became one of the deadliest terrorist strikes in Pakistani history. Many educators reject the idea of arming teachers as reckless and counterproductive, reflecting the kind of arguments in U.S. school systems overshadowed by their own occasional mass shootings.

"But for teachers like 37-year-old Tabinda, going to work unarmed no longer feels like an option. She and 10 other female teachers at the Frontier College for Women are taking pride in their newfound marksmanship with handguns, and plan to carry them to help protect their students aged 16 to 21.

"Asked whether she felt confident of killing a terrorist at her school, Tabinda was emphatic in reply: "Yes. Whoever kills innocents, God willing I will shoot them."

The Republican governor in a speech last week revived his anti-union rhetoric and blamed what he said was an unfriendly state business climate on an alliance among Democrats who get strong labor support and reward workers with costly benefits.

Rauner flashed a chart that listed a series of unions, including representatives of teachers and BLUE-COLLAR WORKERS, as he lambasted a "conflict of interest" and "corrupt" alliance in which big labor campaign contributions support Democratic candidates to reap better state benefits and higher wages on public works projects.

That would include FOP 7 & Fire Fighters Local 2. Rest assured he coming after YOU
