Nice Work

  • The burglaries started with gang members using crowbars to smash the windows of stores on tony North Michigan Avenue and elsewhere in the city.

But when businesses boosted their security on the advice of the police, the burglars crashed stolen cars through their doors. The thieves would seize all the loot they could carry and flee in minutes, police say.

On Tuesday, the Chicago Police Department announced charges against four men in connection with the two-year spree. They and other suspects allegedly stole more than $2 million in merchandise and caused more than $500,000 in damage to businesses in Chicago, the suburbs and other cities in the Midwest, police said.
Around 40 heists across the Midwest over two years might be cleared by these arrests. Nice long term investigation there boys and girls.

Great arrests. Will plea bargain down to lesser charges and get probation. Wanna bet? That's why this job is so totally un-f*cking rewarding. Diligent coppers work hard on investigations only to see offenders walk with a slap on the wrist.

And in no time they'll bee right back at it because in CC there are no consequences.

Please tell me what Rahms plan is regarding our pensions?

3/03/2015 03:01:00 PM

Well, you see. That's the whole point regarding you Chuey people. You want to vote for someone that hasn't even commented on our pensions. Rahm KNOWS the problem exist. Chuey does not have the resources or knowledge to know what to do with our pensions. Rahm most likely does. 40 years of neglect with our pensions isn't entirely Rahm's fault.

3/03/2015 05:28:00 PM

From an earlier post:

Rahm has had four years to provide a solution to the looming pension problem that Daley and company created. He has done NOTHING except tell police and fire that they need to bleed and they will not get the pension they worked for.

I am approaching the end of my career. In that time I have been shoot at numerous times. I have been stabbed at, spit on and hit with a bat. I have been to the emergency room half a dozen times with injuries sustained while fighting people that want to harm others. I have already bled.

Rahm's first and only solution that he has put forth is to tell me and my fellow officers and fire fighters, who have likewise bled, that we will not get paid what we worked for. Rahm 'most likely has a solution'? I think we can do better than Rahm.

It was a matter of time I guess. I got into an argument with a retired Detective from area one burglary. I was defending how long it took for these shitsheads to be arrest; they were wearing hoodies causing an identification problem. He said just 30yrs back working coppers had informants. Now, not many police are working the street that way anymore. I told him if you work the street, your chances are you'll be sued, and called a racist. He said if a reliable informant gave info about the next smash type burglary, a stake-out team would be waiting. During a briefing, the team leader would almost always say, "take no prisoners." We are in different universe, I have not heard anyone taking about stakeout teams. The only stakeout I know of, is the IAD fucking copper(s).

OT:

Justice Deptartment Clears Officer of Civil Rights Violations in Ferguson Shooting

The Justice Department has cleared a Ferguson, Mo., police officer of civil rights violations in the shooting of Michael Brown, a black teenager whose death set off racially charged and sometimes violent protests last year.

The decision, which was announced on Wednesday, ends a lengthy investigation into the shooting last August, in which Officer Darren Wilson shot and killed Mr. Brown in the street. Many witnesses said Mr. Brown had his hands up in surrender when he died, leading to nationwide protest chants of “Hands up, don’t shoot.”

But federal agents and civil rights prosecutors rejected that story, just as a state grand jury did in November. The Justice Department said forensic evidence and other witnesses backed up the account of Officer Wilson, who said Mr. Brown fought with him, reached for his gun, then charged at him. He told investigators that he feared for his life.

“There is no evidence upon which prosecutors can rely to disprove Wilson’s stated subjective belief that he feared for his safety,” the report said.

The report found that witnesses who claimed that Mr. Brown was surrendering were not credible. “Some of those accounts are inaccurate because they are inconsistent with the physical and forensic evidence; some of those accounts are materially inconsistent with that witnesses’ own prior statements with no explanation,” it said.

DR Dean has a Quandary!!!

Collect a favor from Rahm that might not be paid out, and lose the next election for FOP prez.

Or endorse NO one and remain irrelevant.

Chuy Can't promise anything at this time unless Dr dean wants to work in the County.

Don't forget the board will be swept out as well it is just how it works...

Go head and call him unless you voted at the unknown FOP website. The canvassing at the districts means nothing. No formal rules to see who FOP endorses.

Question of the day what officer put Rahms name in to be endorsed??? Answer he is on the board! It should be in the minutes of the meeting if you feel like asking.

Non city workers don't understand how our 'insurance' works. We pay for insurance, but there's no insurance company. The City pays our bills, at a discounted rate just like insurance companies get. And the City pays a middleman to do the paperwork and handle the phone calls.

Oh, and the best part of this rotten deal is the City is extremely slow to pay and that damages our personal credit ratings.

Dear concerned citizen. Please do not allow the smoke and mirrors obfuscate your view of our Department.
If an emergency occurs which demands immediate action, the District officers in your district will arrive and contain the situation and quite often handle it very professionally without the need of a SWAT team. In the event that a SWAT team is needed due to a barricaded individual or similar situation, patrol officers are amply qualified to hold the fort until a SWAT team is assembled and responds to take over the scene.
Even with a full time 24/7 SWAT team, it would take easily half hour tor a SWAT team to arrive to a location where it is needed. SWAT teams in Chicago are specialized teams which arrive upon notification from officers out in the field. They are usually not waiting together for a call unless they are already deployed for missions.
That is my view and opinion which is based on my field experience.
