This Looks Painful

Ouch:

  • Two police officers and three others were injured in a rollover crash on the West Side early Friday.

The accident happened in the 3400 block of West Congress in the East Garfield Park neighborhood at 12:10 a.m., police said.

A police squad SUV was heading north on Homan when it was struck by a black car heading west on Congress, police said. The crash caused the SUV to flip onto its roof.
Officers were reportedly in good condition, but a wreck like that...wow. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Off duty Chicago fireman driving for Uber lit up some scumbag Friday night at 2350hrs in 014!

014th District Officers, while on patrol, heard loud reports and responded. They found a man shot, and a handgun lying on the ground near him at 2988 N. Milwaukee Ave in the 025th District. The offender of the aggravated assault was shot by a citizen with a concealed carry permit who remained on scene and is being interviewed by ANVC.

Supervisors on scene . ANVC is investigating. The offender is at Illinois Masonic Hospital and will be admitted. Offender is a M/4/22,

The victim of the assault witnessed the offender shooting at unknown individuals on the street.
The victim (an off-duty Chicago Fire Fighter) stopped his vehicle and the offender pointed his firearm at the victim, at which time, the victim fired shots from his own firearm, neutralizing the threat.

So much for concealed carry being bad!!

Slow down, nothing other than a 10-1 deserves such speed. Check some of the times on those so-called in progress jobs? Many have over 30 minutes already on them before dispatched.

That photo is a reminder: wear your freaking seat belt! On my watch about 40% of the officers won't wear the seat belts. Especially the young ones. They think it is that important to get a running start in case someone runs away on foot.

Choosing not to wear your seat belt is idiotic.

+++++ 'The 19-year-old woman driving the car and a woman riding passenger were taken to Stroger Hospital, . . . Citations are pending against the 19-year-old.' +++++

Texting while driving? Talking on the phone? Gabbing with the passengers? Singing some crappy hip-hop song? Whatever she was doing, she wasn't paying goddamn attention!

These crashes at intersections -- which were unheard of years gone by, and not that many years either -- are all too common now. It seems like there's one a month now-a-days. So I don't know who's teaching these numb-skulls to drive, but someone is doing something f--king wrong. A Green Light doesn't mean you don't look for crossing traffic, and flashing Emergency Lights & Siren mean: WATCH OUT & YIELD YOU ASSHOLES.

So I'm glad the officer's injuries aren't worse. Mostly bad things happen when a car or SUV rolls over in a crash.

Instead of bitching pointlessly about this issue, some intelligent questions need to be asked and answered.

How long should it take to get the average number of kits submitted tested and returned? How many personnel would it take to make that happen? What are the equipment needs to make that happen in a timely manner?

Why are taxpayer funded managers not asking and answering these questions? I'll keep this apolitical, but we all know the answer in Illinois as regards political mismanagement.

Sorry, but I have to ask. 'Take your time coming back' versus 'take u'r time coming back'?
It's not a shortcut that's knocking five letters off a word. It isn't more understandable. So, why? Is it really that difficult to spell out the word 'your'?

Sometimes it isn't speed, just physics.
I once saw a station wagon, going no more than 20mph, get t-boned on Sacramento, in the park. Some ancient, giant Oldsmobile hit it just right and the wagon flipped over, like in slow motion, until it settled back on its wheels.
Striking vehicle was going around 30mph.
All parties saved by seatbelts.

If squads didn't keep railing through red lights/stop signs at Mach 4, this wouldn't be as much of a problem. This doesn't happen with any other suburb, County or State patrol. These CPD squads are doing this damn near on a weekly basis now. Slow down, stop, make sure intersection is safe, clear through. This isn't difficult...

SUVs tip over very easy. High school physics will teach that. I have no idea why agencies got on that bandwagon. They are terrible with gas mileage, not exactly sports car handling and tip very easy besides being more costly.

I was on scene. It is nice to see some of these fucking savages get a taste of their own medicine. How dare they shoot someone for no justifiable reason? Well the bad guy got what he deserved.

To the responsible people carrying firearms, both police and non-police, as always, use your head. Carrying a gun is a huge responsibility and only use deadly force if it is necessary.

WEAR THOSE SEAT BELTS.

About 8 to 10 year Police Officer Eric Solario died in a crash when the squad hit black ice. The poor kid died after in ICU for awhile. He was just a nice kid that was in the old Tru unit. I went to his mass and cemeatary and I still am heartbroken, just a young good copper died. If he wore his seat belt, he could of made it.
Please guys, fuck it and wear the seat belts, don't put your beloved family of putting you in the ground.
God rest the poor soul of Eric and God bless all you great people in patrol. You still make me proud I was a member of the great CPD. You have now a shit job thanks to that BJ from NYC that fucked you guys with his BS.
Old retired guy.

...and of course ordered 2WD...
