Who Are These People? UPDATE

The Chicago Police Foundation?

Here's the Google cache page. A whole lot of names and faces we don't recognize. And it seems they're using the lobby of Police HQ....sorry, the Public Safety Headquarters Building.....for some sort of party. There also appears to be alcohol served on the grounds and a tent set up in the lot.

UPDATE: The Chicago Police Foundation is not and should not be confused with the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation.

The two are separate and we've deleted a few comments that confused the two.

Supposedly Cline is pissed off that the names are so similar.

provide supplemental funding to the Chicago Police Department for additional resources to help improve public safety in the city. If that doesn't say please steal from this fund I don't know what does. Is this some other charity where ex exempts and superintendents can collect six figure salaries with expense accounts and take home cars.

I love their website that said at their fundraising event there would be special tours of HQ and a Soecial Presentation by the Swat Team.
Did they preform like the Jesse White tumblers or what?
And, just who is guarding the hen house of funds this group collects?
LWAYS follow the money.

They cleared out HQ early two Weeks ago so tents and such could be set up in the parking lot. It was a week or so after the IACP conference. It all seems very odd to do that in a public building. Why not have next years at Homan Square?

And make sure you don't sell your $100 a Police Memorisl vest on Craigslist. The Supt doesn't like that at all. He'll have a heart attack if he sees another one for sale.

Now the department has the units putting on displays like they're in the circus so that the wealthy will donate money to the department? That being said, I do genuinely appreciate that there are still people out there that support the police in this age.

This is a McCarthy led initiative; something they do in NYC. Get corporate sponsorship to support the Department's lack of funding for stuff like SWAT, the Marine & Helicopter unit and other specialized units. I wasn't there but it was my understanding that lots of chiefs and deputy chiefs were as well as the CO of the Marine unit who was working the room quite effectively from what I hear. Tickets were $500.00 per tickets; $5,000.00 for a table and $6,000.00 for a VIP table. Maybe McCarthy actually spoke to someone at the VIP table. Don't even get started on the booze issue. No one really gives a crap and I'm sure they covered it somehow. I hear that Phil Cline was livid about this, especially since McCarthy's organization is the "Chicago Police Foundation" and Cline's is the "Chicago Police Memorial Foundation." Sounds like we could all be wearing corporate logos on our uniforms the way sports teams have on theirs. Of course, Patrol was not involved in this ... I hear McCarthy is holding an event for them at the Home Run Inn ... $20.00 per person to help get us some new staplers and stuff like that to be used in the district. Thanks, Supt.!

I won't donate one cent to this group.

I have not seen GMAC at the Annual CPD GSF dinner hosted by the chaplains unit since the first year he was appointed supt. Talk about a slap in the face to all the families of fallen officers.

You are in a class all by yourself GMAC.

Wasn't the chancellor of Germany Merkel the woman who allowed all these terrorists and invaders in? Like in our country close the borders but the democrats are allowing millions in, this is ridiculous! We definitely need new leadership from the presidential office all the way down, we need a non-politician no wonder Trump and Carson are tops in polling outsiders! Could you imagine a hillary presidency? May God save us from that!!

Thanks to SCC for maintaining and keeping this informative blog moving forward, If or should I say "when" it hits home, the liars will be spinning media the "real police" will be in our home SCC will be behind timely news that is important to the police and honest citizens!

SCC - Just asking ... Did the rogue"s gallery AKA City Council give permission to the CPD to organize this foundation and solicit contributions? Are vendors doing business w/ CPD solicited?
It's great that there are people who will donate/support CPD. But who will oversee the Foundation? The potential for fraud/misuse is too easy for some of our gold stars to resist. Just look at the fallout with the Fox Lake Explorer Post which merchants supported & the fraud that resulted.

McCarthy will be on the road in front of all sorts of organizations to ask for money to finance his (retirement fund) legacy project.

When that happens any citizen of Chicago should ask him these questions.

What is your salary or other remuneration for chairing this project?

How many sworn officers of all ranks were employed by the Chicago Police Department when you started and how many are employed today?

If possible get that Q&A on video and post it on youtube and for SCC.

Politicians should wear coveralls like racing drivers with patches that show who has bought them off. Then when they go to jail the orange jumpsuit should have a list of the crimes labeled on them. Maybe we should just tattoo them like the Russians do.
